#NoBareLipsNovember Day One: NARS

The official second year of #NoBareLipsNovember has begun.

Day One

Nars Orgasm Satin Lipstick – Retail 28$USD or 35$CDN
(seriously this exchange rate sucks)

This is the original cult classic lipstick, it has a luxurious texture and the colour is a staple in most makeup devotee’s collection. The product delivers exactly what it promises, a silky satin sheen lipstick with that post-coital glow. The colour is a peachy pink with a slight gold shimmer, not sparkle.

I feel as though the reason this lipstick is so popular is that it looks good on such a generous range of people, regardless or skin tones.

The first NARS Orgasm product debuted in 1999 (their famous blush) and thereafter NARS began rolling out a large selection of products, all in the Orgasm shade. Keep scrolling for some quotes from Mr.Nars about the famous collection/shade. (from Byrdie)

“I never anticipated Orgasm becoming so successful. Looking back, I think the combination of the name and the shade made it so popular. Without such an audacious name, I don’t know if it would have become so iconic.”

“Orgasm is special because it happens to suit all skin tones,” Nars explained. “The pink color and subtle shimmer gives you a natural flush. It’s flattering for so many women.”

“Of course, the name itself continues to add allure to this iconic product. Everyone wants an Orgasm. The word may make you laugh or blush, but there is definitely an instant emotional attachment to the shade.”

I’m sure many of you have heard of this product or if not, tried it and maybe even have it sitting somewhere on your vanity right now.
