#NoBareLipsNovember Day Nineteen: Purgatory

Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick- Purgatory

I love this colour! It has this weird dark purple berry colour that just makes my lips feel like the most luscious of plums … but throw in some sparkle. I like purples on my complexion, I feel as though pinks are too “Barbie” with my blonde hair so the purple is a variation on a feminine colour. The sparkle is fun and the darkness adds some edge.

I wish I could say I like everything about this product but unfortunately, I cannot. The formula is just not the best… The coats are spotted/blotchy and take a minute or more to dry. After applying said swipes of colour the colour seems to run to the edges of the lips, an awful lip liner look is created and the colour is a little patchy. This doesn’t wear off easily but it also isn’t nearly as waterproof as it claims. If you put it through the wringer it will come off, this is not like the NARS Powermatte– don’t be fooled.

It’s tricky because if I found a colour I really loved I’d find a way to make the formula work. However, if there was a way to avoid having to use such an inconsistent formula I would, and do.

The companies first magazine ad asked readers if “pink made them puke?” at the time, 1996, they launched swampy greens and blues- 10 lipsticks and 12 nail lacquers.

in 2015 the company sold 1 NAKED palette every 6 seconds… that’s 14’400 palettes a day…

They don’t test on animals

On Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, wedding day she used Urban Decay products to create her subtle smoky eye. (yes SHE did her own makeup on her wedding day)

Have you tried these lipsticks? They seem to be quite popular and I’m curious as to whether or not anyone else has had an equally unfortunate experience.

Note: This has a metalized finished, not the standard finish.
