Another year of NBLN completed. I wanted to thank you all for tuning in, receiving support from friends and strangers alike leaves me so grateful. This year NBLN was different, I wasn’t making videos but instead writing articles, typing and erasing my words as opposed to speaking and letting the words fall together.
Makeup isn’t as high maintenance as I sometimes feel it is. On a day to day basis, I wear hardly any makeup, foundation, mascara, and bronzer. After wearing lipsticks, glosses, stains etc on a daily basis I realized they don’t require as much upkeep as my mind convinces me they do.
I also feel as though when I wore lipsticks I felt bolder, even brazen. Lipstick and makeup, in general, is an outward statement of what’s happening within. Even if you feel less than yourself, makeup has a way of bringing you back; looking good can absolutely help you to feel better.
Similarly to last year, this month was a time I could reflect on how I feel based on how I look.

When I was planning all the colours I’d use I swatched each one to compare the lot. Although it looks like a bit of a hack job, all the colours were photographed in the same light on the same sheet. By keeping all the variables constant it allows a better comparison.
I hope you enjoyed the month of NBLN, stay tuned in the upcoming weeks to see if you’re the winner of one of our giveaways!
