My #1 Life Lesson for Success

I’m 26 and assuming nothing tragic happens to me I’ve got quite a few years ahead of me. My young age, and sometimes my naivety, don’t stand in my way of learning valuable life lessons. It’s mind-boggling how obtuse people can be when it comes to life lessons, sure they seem far too bumper sticker worthy but they have real value. In all honesty, I’ve discovered that the simplest ones, the ones we learn at a young age on the playground or in the sandbox are the ones that are the truest and well-founded.

The one life lesson I find has been making a repeat appearance in my life most recently is something we all know but forget, so let me remind you: “A situation, a mood, a feeling, an argument, etc, no matter what it may be, it is and will become what you bring to it”

Seems simple enough right?

It’s not necessarily simple but more so straightforward. Whether you want to think of it in a matter of energy transfer or just logic, things are what we make of them.
If you bring a bad attitude to a new day, the day will worsen. If you bring inattentiveness and passiveness to your blog or website, you will see that passiveness reflected back in your readership.

It’s all about perspective

Life really is, and eventually becomes what we make it. It’s a beautiful piece of clay and we get to mold it however we want. Every situation can be turned around with a little willingness, persistence, and optimism. Believe me when I say I know that these are just words and it’s hard to put these motivations into practice, but if you do it once it slowly becomes easier. Those first few steps are always the hardest, but usually the most rewarding.

“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement”
-Helen Keller
