Our Body Care Empties for 2019

For the year of 2019 I didn’t go through an excess of Body Empties, just a few things here and there. I definitely had a few items I discovered that were some new faves, but because I love trying new products I currently haven’t yet repurchased anything that’s displayed in this post.

SENKA Perfect Bubble for Body [Wash] – $14.99 CDN

I purchased this body wash from my local TNT super market during their grand opening. This item was about half price as a ‘Grand Opening Special’. This body wash is cute and it smells really nice, the scent is quite stong and feminine. What I liked about this product was that it lathered ALOT, the amount of bubbles from such  a small amount of product was quite crazy! With that being said I did find this to be a bit drying. This isn’t a product I could see myself re-purchasing unless I chose to use it more as a bubble bath, but even then I think I’d choose something else. Repurchase: Unlikely.

URIAGE Xemose Cleansing Soothing Oil – $19.95 CDN

This is a very nice product, it’s very light and has a medium/light consistency. It lathers ever so slightly (very very minor) and leaves the skin feeling very clean with no film or residue. The only negative with this product is the smell, it’s not particularly unpleasant it’s just kind of weird, it sort of reminds me of wax crayons. This is something I would definitely purchase again as the bottle is super convenient in the shower/bath and the product itself works wonderfully. Repurchase: Yes.

Aveeno Skin Relief Shave Gel- $4.00 CDN

I’m unsure as to when or why I bought this as I never use shave gel… I’ve always liked Aveeno’s products as they’re mild and effective, this shave gel grows into a very thick mousse/foam. There was no scent and it left the skin nice and soft. I don’t especially like shaving gel and nearing the end of this product I really was just trying to use it up to clear space in my shower.  Repurchase: No.

Aveeno Calming Body Wash- $7.00 CDN

Lavender is such a lovely, calming smell, it almost smells warm to me. If you ever smell the scent of freshly baked cookies you would automatically associate warmth with that smell, that’s how I feel about lavender. This body wash has a calming fragrance that surrounds your senses. It really helps clear your mind, especially before bed. My skin was left clean and ever so slightly stripped, even with that said I would still recommend it. Repurchase: Yes.

Adria Handmade Cosmetics Orange Body Scrub- $22.00 CDN [gifted]
Puchase here Webiste here

My mom purchased this scrub for me at the Liberia airport in Costa Rica. At first, prior to trying it, I wasn’t really expecting much simply because some scrubs leave the skin so dehydrated or they don’t have enough grit. I’m quite picky when it comes to exfoliators, but WOAH MAMA! This scrub is amazing- it has a texture that I’ve been unable to find anywhere else. It smells of freshly squeezed oranges but better, and the exfoliation is harsh enough leaving your skin so smooth and hydrated. Oh did I not mention it has coconut oil in it which leaves your skin incredibly hydrated. I would’ve asked my mom to buy a whole case of this had I known it was going to be as great as it was. Oh and it’s natural.  I highly recommend this scrub. Repurchase: Yes, yes YES!

CLARINS Tonic Body Polisher- $52.00 CDN

Clarins, their skincare products are popular and known to be of good quality so I was expecting nothing less, especially since I would categorize this as skincare. I was quite let down by this polish. The smell is nice but so over bearing, it grabs hold of you and does not let go. I’d be able to tolerate the smell had the scrub aspect of it been worthy but alas it is not. The scrub is very fine and I have to really put some elbow grease into it to feel as though I’ve scrubbed at all. Afterwards the skin is left with a film, leaving it feeling greasy. This may be a product meant for a much drier climate and skin type.  Repurchase: No.
