Is everyone just better than you?

It always feels as though the world meets us at the door with some sort of disappointment or doubt, either from someone else or from ourselves. I work in a pharmacy that I’ve worked in since I was younger and apparently society just thinks that is not allowed. I’ve had people come up to me and say “You’re still here eh…” and it’s such an awful feeling, you’re shaming me because of where I work. When did we decide that it’s our business to judge others on where they work.
I’m sorry I didn’t get a business degree and go into a directly related job that will offer me security and benefits and blah blah blah.
I chose a different route. A route faced with hardships and self-doubt, a road lined with learning new skills and immense self-growth.
As a creative or an entrepreneur it’s so easy to wonder if you have any idea as to what it is you’re doing. There’s nobody there encouraging you and reminding you that what you’re doing is going to work.
The only person that can consistently lift you up is you, and it is HARD.
One of the tools I find to be very uplifting is finding forums or twitter profiles or anything really, that is entrepreneur related. Find a tribe that understands you because the rest of the world is waiting for you to fail. People struggle with being supportive when it comes to entrepreneurship because it’s challenging and they’re scared for you. Scared things won’t work out. But who says that’s the direction in which you’re headed.
Find a place with like-minded people who will encourage you and remind you and lift you up when you’re having a low day. There are so many like-minded people who are also looking for an online home/family but we have to allow ourselves to attract one another.
This has so far been my experience with doubt, the doubt I instill in myself and the doubt everyone is always instilling on me. I know it’s not the happiest of topics but find your tribe and just keep moving forward.
